Anyone from Norman

Hello, I am new to the forum and thought I would try and find someone who listens in the Norman area. I just recieved a Radio Shack Pro 97 as a gift and just finished programing the Norman PD freqs. I am hearing something so maybe it worked.

Hello and welcome aboard. You might want to plug in the Norman OHP site also you should receive it just fine also with your handheld. Both systems are at the same location on campus.

Thanks. Radio Shack couldn't get their program software to work so they just sent my wife home with a printout. I got freqs from radioreference.com I input the primary and alternate control channels into the same bank and am picking up fire, NPD, OUPD and County. I would like to clean up all the crap that comes installed on the scanner as I imagine most of it is worthless. If you could point me in a good direction for all the freqs you use in this area I would greatly appreciate it. Sorry for being a newbie.

Does the Pro-97 let you just program control channels? If so add 860.9875 and that will get you the Okla state DPS Norman site. I mostly listen to City of Norman and OHP stuff so someone else may add some ideas for you.

I think the listing for Cleveland Co in the database has most of what you need. In addition to NFD and the other FDs around, I keep an ear on the DPS system (where OHP and many others are). I also listen to the BNSF on 160.560.

Like Ken said, if the Pro-97 supports control-channel only scanning, that's the way to go.
