Hearing Coast Guard units on 154.920 running vessels and names. Seems strange to me. They are using a PL of 136.5 Sounds like some type of temporary repeater, both unit and dispatcher have same signal strength.

One unit gave a location south east of Discovery Bay

Well I know it's CLEMARS, just strange that they wouldn't be using their reg marine freqs.

Haha ok I hear ya. :) I agree it's strange. However normally the USCG law enforcement traffic in the delta is on the P25 Land Mobile Radio system "LE 06" channel 171.35 on Mt Diablo, rather than a regular Marine VHF channel. I would venture a guess that if they're working a special detail with another agency's Marine resources (that only have VHF conventional, like maybe Coco or Solano counties) then CLEMARS 1 would be the channel to do it on.

A dozen or so years ago when I was coordinating that stuff, USCG Alameda was authorized for a base on CLEMARS 1. I suspect they have it console patched to whatever marine channel they are using.

Checked the marine channels and LE05/LE06. Didnt hear anything but these guys on 154.92. I'll have to listen next weekend to see if I hear them again.

Any idea where their 154.92 base is, or is it portable?

When I coordinated it circa 1999, it was on YBI at the Vessel Traffic facility. Now, who knows. The Mt. Diablo facility?

Also, they may be operating under an IRAC authorization, in which case it isn't in the FCC Database.

Yeah def not YBI from my location. Possibly Diablo North peak. It was weak but readable here in Tracy.

USCG is at South Peak (where you can publicly drive to). If I had to guess for the Delta area it would be Station Rio Linda.

I hear a lot of simplex on the usual P25 CG freqs so I would say their chatter is mostly there or half there and half on the Diablo repeater (boring or enc; I locked it out).

Yeah Wayne this was CLEMARS VHF. Do they have that repeater up there that you know of? Heard them putting around DiscoBay last weekend.
