Looking at the AnyTone AT-D578UVIIIPRO for an all-band (VHF/UHF/220) DMR Base.
Max wattage is 50 at VHF and 35 at UHF but will be primarily UHF Local repeaters and DMR UHF Repeaters.
Can I get away with RG6 Quad Shield cable for only a 40-foot run?
Yes, I know about the advantages of LMR 400, 75-ohm vice 50 ohm, and have an intermediate knowledge of signal loss but I already have a lot of RG6.
I already run a Diamond X30A Dualband 2m/70cm Base Antenna.
I'm not so much worried about signal loss but rather can the RG6 "handle" 50VHF/35UHF transmit watts.
Thanks

With 75-ohm cable in a system designed for 50 ohm transmission line, the best SWR you'll see is about 1.5:1.

Find the specs for your RG6QS and see what the manufacturer lists for power handling capability. I gotta wonder how long will a cable designed for milliwatt cable TV or satellite signals last when you are running 50 watts through it?

Another issue might be finding PL-259 connectors for RG6QS.

CableXperts has Andrew Cinta CNT-400 (Times LMR-400 equivalent) assembled with PL-259s on both ends. A 50 foot length is $50.95 plus shipping.

Thanks, AK9R! I have found a great solution if anybody has used this before chime in.
My main problem with LMR-400 was getting through the window. I wasn't going to drill a hole in an exterior concrete wall.
I was using an RG6 window pass-through previously for the scanner antenna. However, I just discovered that Comet makes a Comet CTC-50M window pass through rated to a 00watts. Online reviews are good. Yeah, it's expensive at $60 but not going with the RG6 is the better move.
