APCO 25 Problem BC296D

Recently the APCO25 card in my BC296D has stopped working. When I turn on the scanner, a message appears saying the card is not installed. I have uninstalled/installed the card both physically and via the scanner controls and it still wont work. I have checked the connections, etc. All other functions on the scanner work.

The card is a BCi96D.

Any ideas?

Just to clarify the scanner controls you have performed, have you tried these steps?

Press Menu/Back
Select 3:System Option
Select 0-25 Card
Select 1:Enable

Thanks for the reply. I double-checked the settings, card is enabled.

When you say that you "checked the connections", does that include inside the scanner. This is NOT advice to open your scanner and if you do so, it is at your own risk, ...BUT..., the 250's were known to have problems where the internal ribbon cable connected to the card slot. Maybe this is what has happened with your scanner. I know that they're different generation scanners, but some Uniden's have been know to have ribbon cable connector issues, to include the ribbon cable connecting the keypad on the 996T's.
