I got an apple computer recently and can't seem to download the Butel software. I keep getting a message saying it's a windows base software. Any advice???

Thanks!

Correct, Butel software works in Windows only. You have a couple choices:

Buy or download a program that allows you to run Windows on your Mac such as BootCamp, Fusion or Parrallels. You will also need to get a copy of Windows then install it after you install one if the above.

Get a cheapo Windows computer. Just about any old box with Windows XP or Windows 7 will work just fine if all you want to do is program your scanner. A $250 Netbook will work just fine, as will the old computer your neighbor sold at his tag sale for $50.

I don't even know if Apple can run in a Windoze environment like Macs do...does it support TCL/TK? If it does then you may have an option or two.

If not - go buy yourself a cheap desktop and load it up with memory (the more the better). Get a nice 21 or so inch display and off you go...best regards..Mike

You might want to check out your local pawn shops. They sometimes have laptops selling for very reasonable prices.
