I have an AR3000A that is deaf on shortwave AM broadcast bands and VHF commercial. Is there an easy fix or should I send it to AOR for repair?
Also this radio has a 10.7 Mhz. out put installed on it. Would this ad on affect my problem.

1.Make sure the attenuator is not on.
2.Are you using the correct antenna (an outside one)
3.Did you try moving the switches INSIDE the radio after taking the Top cover off?
They either need to be both facing IN or both facing away from each other.(they are little white switches and are delicate)
By the way....the HF bands are kind of dead so check at night and check day to day your results will vary!

Good luck on getting that radio repaired. It's so old that no one might be able to fix it...I hope I'm wrong

best regards..Mike

Aor repair

I called AOR in Torrance ,Ca and they told me that they will repair and tune radio to factory spec. They charge $25.00 for estimate. This radio when it came out in 1992 sold for $1300.00 new. He told me that not many were sold to the general public. but the US. government bought around 4500 of these radios.
