On the Quickkey Overview, I think Gommert may have changed the wording on Build 11. If there is not a quick key assigned to a system, the overview now shows "None" where what you posted said "Off".

The "Sort by FL Quick Key" sorts by FL Quick Key, then System Quick, the Department Quick Key (essentially sorting the "Shortcut" column.

OK, now I was able to download build 11. Had to uninstall ver 7 first to get it to install right. Instead of using the Uniden USB cord, I am using a 6 foot USB 2.0 A-male to mini-B cable I bought from Amazon. Bought 3 of these because wanted to see if they would work as well as Uniden cables. Each cost I think $5.99. Well I think the cable fits tighter in the 536HP mini USB port than does the Uniden cable. Seems like a more solid connection.
Anyway, the mass storage function seems to be fine with Amazon USB cable, and guess what, the serial port function, at least for now, seems to be great. For the first time now Gommert, I am able to read the entire names of all talkgroups. The two common TGs, as an example, on the LA ICIS P25 Pasadena Site that the previous versions (up to ver 7 before sent 536HPs for replacement) would not show on the virtual screen or log properly were: TG 2163 Burbank PD Tac 3 - Patch and TG 2480 Simulcast - CHP Altadena Brown Channel. Note the hyphens in the TG descriptions. Up to ver. 7 could not seem to handle these hyphenated names well. Now ver 11. seems to be doing fine.
Only thing is I note that on many P25 channels like LAPD, every time a channel comes on, the hit count seems to read 2 hits instead of 1. Had ver 11 running like this for a couple of hours without any major problems.
I presume this improved function is due to your software updates. Tomorrow I will try using the Uniden USB cable that does not fit as snugly. Will be curious to see what happens. But things seem to be looking better.. Hey, at least now I can hear the audio with my headphones very clearly. Even at 10 or 12, sometimes too loud. That's the way I like it.

Just ran ver 11 like above but with the Uniden USB cable, a little less snug, but still working great, with same performance as listed above.

Just downloaded build 11 on my windows 8.1 machine and it works perfect. Butel makes the best scanner programming software you can buy

I just downloaded and installed Build 11. It started fine, so whatever was going on has been resolved.

When installing new versions, in this case build 11, I have to reenter the options for default data folder and autoload file.

Note: this is not a new issue.

Well So far under .11 i am going on 5 1/2 hours straight running time for VC on my Dell Mini Laptop with no signs of the mass storage thing. This is a beautiful thing when it is working like this. The log seems to be working just fine.

Getting Happy again. :) with the 536

RR import in ARC 546 v.89 build 11 not working right

Gommert,

I tried to import from the RR import dialog and it is not working right with the new build. Systems and Departments are created, but the channels grids are empty. I believe this worked correctly in the previous build (subject to the 100 limit).

Applies to both Trunked and Conventional imports.

Also, question about the new 255 Department limit. Does the 255 apply to # Sites and # Departments separately, or is the limit for # Sites + # Departments?

Thanks for the work,

Ted

I do NOT have a 536 so my observations are only with regard to the 436 hand-held unit.
1. import of HPD files from HP-1 works all okay. 2. button that adds the "UID:" prefix to alpha labels works okay. 3. I have NEVER had the problem of 'switching modes' from USB so that must be a problem only with the 536 I have not experienced this with the 436. IMHOP seems to be working well.

I want to let people know that I personally have seen the radio fall into Mass Storage when connected to Radiofeed streaming software. Whatever is causing this problem it is not necessarily attributable to ARC

Mute in VC

Messing around with ARC and clicked on the M button. It muted just fine.
However, the only way I was able to un-mute was to turn off the scanner and start again.

Anyone?

Thanks
Doug

You can effectively un-mute by setting the Vol level (see pull down just to left of M) button.

That being said, I believe it would be better if the M button was dual state: Mute and Not-Mute. Would like the software to remember the Vol level setting and return it to that setting when going from Mute to Not-Mute.

(I'm referring to 436 behavior, not sure if same on 536)

Why is this thread not under the Uniden Software Discussion board?

This thread "Scanner Screen software for 436 and 536", is there.

Been running ver. 11 VC/logging for continuously for last 16 hours. Seems to be working fine, logging everything from mulitple trunk systems and conventional freqs here in Los Angeles area. My primary focus has been on VC/logging. Will try some other features later.

I am running beta 0.89 build 11 and my BCD3536HP is at firmware rev 1.02.03.

I ran ARC536 in the VC mode for over an hour with no problems. I then put the scanner into USB Mass storage mode and up dated the scanner.

After the update I rebooted the scanner and found all of my favorites were enabled. I use the ARC536 VC mode to shut off all but 1 favorite. With in a minute the scanner went back to USB Mass Storage mode.

I restarted the scanner again but this time turned off all but 1 favorite via the scanner's front panel and after 15 minutes it is still working fine.

RR Import now appears to be working correctly in the new Build 12.

Ran into strange issues with the "Copy QuickKeys in Names" feature. Details sent to Gommert directly.

Have a question about the Log file:

I notice for Trunked systems hits, the "System" column shows the Site name and not the System name. Ideally there should be a separate column for System and Site; or at least the the System column should show "system name/site name".

This behavior is while monitoring a BCD436HP; not sure if this holds for the BCD536HP.

Options > Alpha Tags > All Uppercase produces Run Time Error: Control Element "1" does not exist. Noticed it in Versions 11 and 12.
