I am sure this has been asked, but I did a search and did not see any recent threads.

I just purchased ARC396 basic, and when I install, it says it cant connect to the com port?

I have the software installed, and the scanner on. I went into the scanner setup and set the baud rate. It kicks into a device driver setup, and says it cant find the driver? Am I missing something? Should I uninstall and re-install the software?

If you have a PDA software (eg. Palm OS) with the sych option on all the time, even if the PDA program is not running, you might want to turn off the sych option. The sych option may be using the com port you need to run the arc396

If it helps, none of my comports are blue, all are red in my RS232/USB converter window.

Well I changed computers and got the scanner to talk to ARC, but now when I enter my keycode, it still says demo version?

If you use a USB cable you must first install a driver for the USB device. USB device drivers emulate a comport so the software can talk to the scanner.

The registration is case sensitive and must be entered exactly as shown in email/cd.
