However it is not working perfect with the 2051. Anything in the UHF range ARC 433 reports it to 174.000 when I download. Am I missing something here?

That sounds similar to a finding I sent to Gommert. Any VHF air frequencies entered would default to 54.0. I have a 528 and had the software set for the 528. Gommert said to use the 433 model selection as a work around. This might work for you if you have the same set up.

Newbie question here, please forgive...

Does this software unlock my PRO-528's "hidden potential"? I see lots O' mods for 2004,2006, 96 ect. What will I gain from this purchase?

Regards,

There are no hidden features to unlock. You gain ease of programing, and the ability to back-up your programming. You can import data from RadioReference's Database. It also allows you to make alpha-numeric tags for the banks, and frequencies, while viewing the data on your computer. You can also store numerous program content variations on your computer's hard drive, for quick loading.

Thanks for the info, I live in LA. Do you think I should upgrade to a Digital/Analog scanner for my area?

Besides the UHF to 174mz bug ( 2051 ) there appears to be a problem also with the LTR trunking. I asked about this in a thread yesterday with no replies so guess maybe I am the only one having this problem. It appears to send the LTR trunking data but the 2051 will not recognize the TG's.

That was sure fast, this version did take care of the rounding problem with the 2051 however the LTR TG problem is still there. It will write the TG's but the 2051 be still does not recognize the TG's, it just skips over them. I have to re-enter the TG's by hand. thanks for your fast response.

You have to check the format of the TGID's, LT id's must be 6 digits or send us a data file that shows the error.

Yes I know it has to be 6 digit, there is no error on the scanner or ARC433. It up loads the TG's and they appear in the 2051 & look correct but the scanner will just skip over them in the closed mode. I first thought I just had the bank locked but it was not that. If I manually re-enter the TG #'s it will then recognize the TG's when in closed mode. I must doing something wrong but I sure don't what it is. Thanks for your time & trouble.

To update on this problem I tried two more things and one confirms it is a software problem. I downloaded a known working LTR system with ARC433, I then sent it straight back to the scanner. After doing so the LTR system will no long recognize the TG's and I have to manually re-enter TG's. The other I did a Web import from RR data base which rendered the same results.

Are you certain you remembered to un-check the option to write over Talk Groups & Settings? If not, then you would have blanked them out, had you not downloaded them again.

Of course I had the Trunk ID + settings checked. The idea is to send the trunking ID's and settings back to the 2051 that I just downloaded from the scanner that I knew was a good working configuration. The thing is 433 is not sending TG's correctly for LTR so that scanner can recognize but it works fine with EDACS. This the same thing if the scanner itself is wiped clean of all info of the system in the bank ( by hand ) prior to sending freq & trunking ID + settings. Thanks for your input...

Correct there are no error's and there are no difference's ( that I can visually see when I view manually ) in the TGid's that I send to the scanner for I just sent back what I just downloaded from the scanner. As I stated the TGid's worked just fine before I re-sent them and I monitor the LTR system with another scanner to verify. It appears no one else has experienced the same problem so guess there is no use of pursuing this problem any further for I have no idea what is going on. I thank you for your time and trouble.

I have the demo for bcd396, and it also doesn't transfer over the proper LTR group or leave the ones I have locked out, locked out. It also didn't "translate" well on a download from RR.

I think it is a Butel problem, not a scanner problem, because I'm seeing the same thing. But I just decided to stick with USAD, and you don't have that option.
