ARCXT and BCD996P2

I'm having an Issue with ARCXT Ver2.3 Build 2 and 2 BCD996P2 radios I own. When I populate the SW with RR Database download for the system I want to scan (P-25) it fills in the audio type (digital) and it is still there when I upload it to the scanners. When I download the same systems from the radios the audio type field is blank for all ID's. I'm running Windows 7 on dell laptop to do this with.

I don't recall an issue here as I have the software and 996P2, nor if there were others who had the same issues. Maybe search the forums for that in upper right hand corner here on here.

Far as windows 7-
You can remove the question if its a windows 7 issue by going to windows 10.
Its actually easy to upgrade to windows 10 and.... its FREE! Ive done it a few different times takes a 1-3 hours depending on the system.
It only took~10 minutes on this pc with an ssd drive. You can select while in the creation tool to 'Update PC now' option.

I replaced my crashed hard drive and installed an ssd a few weeks ago.
Where it asks for the windows serial #, I skipped it and once on the net it was activated.
Additionally when it asks for the Microsoft login, to bypass that, disconnect your pc from the net, once your past that, reconnect.

Only question will be, you can delete all files and start new or keep the files. You'll then have plenty of security updates that you are not getting on 7 and at some point browsers/web sites/software will stop supporting 7. Granted windows 10 will suffer the same fate for its end of life starting October 14, 2025.

Windows 10 is within a couple of years if being end of life. I haven't tried the free upgrade for several months as a Windows 7 computer is very unlikely to make the grade for Windows 11. Yes, you can put 11 on older computers, and as a computer tech I have tried it, only to get a message after weeks of 11 updates that the computer was not compliant and may face problems. Even the latest version of 11 has work arounds, but MS could bring down your whole system with one simple upgrade if the hardware isn't compliant.

Running the Win7 on a laptop I use for scanner stuff, one radio is hard mounted and it's easier to use the laptop to make updates/changes. Using Windows 10 on a PC and fresh DL of ARCXT, registered and still same results for any of my programmed P25 systems. They go in showing Digital in the software and come out blank. No matter how I populate the Audio Type column, by RR or by dropdown/select none will come back after being put in the radio then polled back out.

Please share the exact steps how to duplicate this, windows version is not relevant.

Open ARCXT software and start RR Import,
Populate system into ARCXT,
Send info to scanner,
Read info from scanner,
File as received from scanner,
Audio Type comes back empty, Even If I go back and repopulate the audio type and send again it still comes back blank. It is not related to only this system but to any P25 standard systems I have from RR Database. Later this evening I will do a complete erase of the files in the scanner and start from scratch and see if it stills does this.

The AudioType field is ignored for a P25 system. This is normal operation for P25 system. Only certain trunk system types support the AudioType field.

Thanks for finding out what was going on, I kinda figured it wold be something like that since none of my P25 systems came back populated.
I have been using your SW since my first BC780XLT.
