I just got an SDS-200 for Christmas. Since I'll be moving to Kearny in the very near future and a lot of my family works at the Ray mine, I would like to monitor the communications at the mine.

It says on the database that an SDR is required to monitor. I was told that the SDS-200 is a Software Defined System. Can this be monitored on my scanner or do I need to buy a separate SDR?1705598295597.png

According to the change log that note was added in 2015, before DMR was commonly available in scanners.

If there is someone in the area that can listen in on the system let us know and I will delete that reference.

As importantly, after the OP moves there with his SDS200, and assuming it has the DMR upgrade, he can help us update the DB to reflect frequency, slot, color code, TG, and usage details for the mine.

Asarco Ray is currently 2 site UHF Connect Plus, but looks like they have added 2 more sites from a FCC search. Since Connect Plus is dead, they are likely moving to CapacityMax or Linked Capacity Plus. TT
