If that's all you care to monitor, forget about it in many areas like Fairbanks, Palmer, Wasilla and possibly Anchorage. There's always a few units in the clear but not enough to make it worthwhile.
BTW, it's not the Troopers system, it's a big statewide trunked system that most Public Safety agencies around the state use. The Troopers happen to be one of those users.
