Aubrey, TX PD

Recently moved to Aubrey and have been trying to listen to Aubrey PD, as I have found it helps me learn a new area, but so far have not been able to find anything online regarding frequencies they use. Are they possibly fully encrypted or like some smaller cities being dispatched by a larger city?

Most Denton County law enforcement agencies are dispatched by the sheriff's office. If things are like they have been for a really long time, DCSO Ch. 2 should be the talkgroup You want to listen to. they may have some kind of Talk channel but I don't see it on RR if they do. You just have to figure out what their unit numbers are in listen for those numbers.

Due to the terrain, I can't listen to Denton County anymore. So if anything has changed I'm not aware of it.

I believe that Aubrey is on Denton County Patrol 3 on the Denton County P2 trunk system. You will also want to listen to the Denton County Fire.

As already noted by Brian & Doug, Aubrey is dispatched by Denton County on the county's P25 Phase II system.

You did not indicate which scanner you'll be using, but it will need to be capable of monitoring Phase II talkgroups, which are indicated by the T in the mode column. More details on agencies in the county, and using the county system, are on this Wiki page:

The county's part of the system is a Simulcast site, which can be problematic for many scanners. Here is a map of the transmit tower locations for the Denton County site:

Using a BCD536HP and so far haven't had an issue receiving the DC feed, at least I don't believe have.

The 536HP is certainly capable of hearing the Denton system. Hopefully, simulcast will not negatively impact you.

I don't monitor them regularly. However, I believe the information at the wiki below is still correct. Aubrey Police use unit numbers in the 370-379 range on Denton County Patrol 3.
