AURORA – A 2-year-old boy was critically injured after being hit by a car on Thursday night and police say the driver of the car is being investigated for a possible DUI.
Aurora Police say it happened in the 18000 block of East Kentucky Avenue off of East Alameda Parkway around 9 p.m.
Police say the boy's father went across Kentucky to talk to a neighbor and thought his son was with the boy's aunt. The boy then rushed across the street to join his father and was hit by the car.
When paramedics arrived, neighbors were performing CPR on the boy and he was airlifted to The Children's Hospital where he was listed in critical condition.
The driver of the car was also taken to the hospital so police could do a blood test.
The name of the driver and the name of the boy were not released.
