I am in Conway about 11 miles from the Gold Creek tower and in the last few days I have heard very little out of Troop A. Getting a little from Troop J since we are fairly close to the Conway County line. Can anyone advise? I have a scantenna up about 20 feet pointed towards Little Rock (about 45 degrees off of the Gold Creek tower).

Also, can anyone explain callsigns that are different than normal patrol traffic? I am hearing some that are just the 3 digit callsign.

One more thing, can I get a roll-call on what 800 mhz mobile antenna everyone uses?

Thanks

btw BCD396T is my scanner

hello,

AWIN has been doing some software upgrades over the past week at several sites. Not sure if that has affected you or not?

For an antenna, try the 800 MHz antenna that Radio Shack sells. It works really good with the BCD396T. I am using a shorter antenna, the Antenex DEXB902SM SMA antenna and it works GREAT! I really like it and use it almost 100% of the time on my 396.

3 digit callsigns could be ABC...Alcohol and Beverage Commission or something like that. For example ABC138 may just be referred to as 138. Or it could be a nearby county or city agency.

Good luck!

Unknown ID on AWIN

Talkgroup ID 16201 on Burdette tower, also receiving both Troop C and D dispatch traffic
on this site. TG 16401, Craighead Co. dispatch comes in clear as does TG 2659, ADEM.
Am monitoring from West Tennessee, N. of Memphis using a 2096 with 800 Mhz. mobile
antenna mounted in attic.
Anyone know the user for 16201?
Thanks.
