I'm looking for recommendations/suggestions for what to use to carry three to four hand held scanners or two way radios around.

Ideally, it would be a cross between a padded camera bag and a nylon briefcase. Camera carrying bags are good because they usually have padded compartments, but are designed for cameras and camera bodies and not hand held radios.

I picture some sort of case with several padded compartments for carrying radios, as well as compartments for accessories, antennas, batteries, and even pencils, pens, and a notebook.

I have Googled and found some ideas, but I was wondering if I could get some suggestions based on what others have found that have worked out well for them.

Another option you may want to investigate are the full backpack or slingback style camera bags. There are multiple sizes/styles, some will even accommodate a laptop PC for those Radio Reference database investigating and programming on-the-go days.

As an example, go to Lowepro's web site and check out the various backpacks and slingpacks available. Most come with reconfigurable compartments, you're not limited to just putting cameras in them.

Might be something in there that works for you if you're not looking for a hard sided airport resistant type of transport.

Thanks for the replies. Both of these web sites have some good choices; I just need to decide which way I want to go; hard case or soft case.

Racing Electronics has a great soft bag. They don't have it on their website but you might try calling them. They still had them on their trucks at the race in Fontana earlier this year. Try giving them a call it is their delux scanner bag or something like that. I have had one for a while now and it is great for road trips.
