Anyone know of such guides for these radios? Have had mine a couple years and despite a number of attempts, have never been able to get trunking to work.

I know Trunking uses several frequencies, and I pick a freq. that sounds like trunking (odd high-pitch buzz, something that sounds like a motor idling are two types heard most) program it in, and that's as far as I can get -- no idea what the second (3rd, 4th, 5th 6th......) frequencies would be, and manuals, to me, seem to be written in a way that assumes you already know about trunk programming...

Any help appreciated.

Assuming that it is a motorola system, put in the trunking channel and use idsearch.
That will show the channels that being used as they talk on them.
If it is a popular system, it should be listed on here under the database files.
Just go there and pick California and it will show all the systems listed.
If it is not then the FCC database search would be a way other that watching the display and writing down the freqs as they appear.
