The Singapore relay of the BBC in English on 12025 kHz is coming in very strong here this morning at 15:43 UTC (8:43 AM local). So strong, in fact, that it manages to open the squelch on my little R6 handheld scanner, despite being 13008 km from here. They're covering a soccer game at the moment. Their broadcast in Korean on 12095 is even stronger.

Wonder what power they're running.

250kW but's it's probably beamed which will increase the apparent power to you.
Thanks. It must be beamed away from me, because its targets are the Middle East and the Far East. Reception at my location is always best during the early morning hours, mostly from the west, including various Asian stations, as well as RNZI on 5980 kHz. Evening reception would be mostly from the east, which is always limited here.

Youre probably getting it off the back, like me... in alaska. 12095 in Korean is so strong from singpore it causes audio on my tecsun pl 880 to distort when it gets to 95dbu...
