Availability of the BC-UTGC GPS USB Cable is not good. Bearcat Warehouse is taking backorders but I am unsure how long that will take and am anxious to get started. I would like to make my own cable and have a pretty good idea of how to connect it but am hoping there is some documentation about how the cable is made. I am trying to connect my GlobalSat BR-355S4 GPS Receiver.

I have the female mini DIN, USB Mini & USB Type A pigtails so all that is left is to connect it up. This is also an opportunity to customize a bit. I would prefer to not pass-thru the USB power to my SDS100 but I am unsure if the interface will work without supplying power un the USB Mini connector. In my vehicle, I use the Micro connector on the SDS100 to power the unit without charging so I don't have to change the Charge While ON option when I don't want to charge, therefore, I don't really want to connect USB power.

If you are still looking to purchase a Uniden BC-UTGC cable, FactoryOutletStore.com currently has it listed for sale on their website. It's a bit pricey at $39.95 but at least that price includes FREE shipping. (FYI Bearcat Warehouse charges an additional $8.99 for "Economy" shipping for the BC-UTGC cable.) The FactoryOutletStore.com website does not explicitly state that the cable is in-stock (or out-of-stock), so perhaps a phone call to verify current stock level would be wise prior to placing an online order.
