Have a BC350A that I picked up that seems to work fine except for a hum from speaker and sounds like whatever is creating the hum also is creating some static when I troubleshot with the squelch open. Ruled out the wall wart as the issue and also ruled out that it is the speaker itself. Perhaps a bad ground somewhere? Anybody else ever experience this same issue and know the cause/fix?

A constant hum is most often caused by a bad or "leaky" capacitor in the radio's power supply, if the radio has a power supply. If the wall wart furnishes AC power the radio has to have an internal power supply and the filter capacitor could be bad. If the wall wart furnishes DC power then the wall wart has to be bad.

Wall wart furnishes DC power, but it is not the wall wart. I troubleshot that by swapping different wall warts and the hum still remained.

Narrowed it down to an issue with wall wart compatibility. Never ran into this before. It worked fine with the third Uniden wall wart I tried. What is strange is that my other BC350A and BC350C work fine with those other two wall warts. Just strange.

I have the same problem with the BC350A but have not really tried to resolve it yet. I also have the same problem with my PRO-2096..........it seems that it is the wall-wort by what I read here. I have an Astron RS-12amp power supply I might try. When I get the time.
