I picked up a bc75xlt when I realized that the bc92xlt doesn't store found frequencies. I intended to connect this to an attic scanner and see what comes up throughout the day.

The spec page on the wiki for this say it has close call temporary storage. I just can't seem to figure out how it works.
I don't see It mentioned in the manual.

Check the CLOSE CALL HITS… it’s supposed to remember the last 10 hits you get when in CC mode. But don’t turn the radio off… I don’t know if the last 10 hits are remembered once you turn it off. There is a UTube video on this which shows you how to review those 10 hits.

I checked and the yt videos showing cc are mostly for the bc125at. The few that feature a bc75xlt only show it while keying a test radio.

After leaving it on overnight it found an air frequency.
I now think the temp storage is accessed via the scroll knob.

info for the 75
FTM: When the scanner finds a frequency, Found displays; it does not display the frequency. Press any key to confirm the displayed frequency

so there is no found bank or system or retention of the last 10.
even i PM'd him on how to find the system/folder on a radio that only has banks. oops.

FTM for the 92: Press any key to confirm the displayed frequency ,so it works the same.

FTM for the 125: Close Call Hits Bank The scanner saves the last 10 Close Call hits into the Close Call temporary store bank named “Close Call Hits.”

OK. In testing, I key up a handheld on low power. The display changes from all dashes to found. With my other hand I can tap the display or twist the scroll knob to see the "found" frequency matches the HT.

However, if I key up and leave the radio alone, tapping the keys and twisting the knob has no effect.

What am I doing wrong? Or is the RR wiki article wrong?

Before posting I doubled checked on my 75XLT and in my Scan75 design notes just to double check I did not miss anything when writing Scan75.

Talking of which I have a new updated version of Scan75 bringing the software to the same functional/equivalent level as Scan125 AND I've added SR30C support as well.

I've been waiting for feedback from a couple beta testers for the SR30C before I release this next version of Scan75, but have not heard from them recently!

Scan75 has an Autostore function that will save hits away in a bank of 200 locations in the program. Duplicate frequencies are noted and a hit counter for that frequency is increased as opposed to storing in another location.

If you are using your scanner mainly at home as a base station then Scan75 could help you.
