I had a whistler ws1040 and I sold it and bought a uniden BCD325P2. I've programmed it and have lots of activity on it but the reason for buying it was a specific frequency. The page its on does not say its dmr or nxdn. I can't figure out why I can't pick it up. I understand that provoice is a waste of time.
I have the frequency set to analog and digital.
22416
The manual says it's compatible with
System Type:Motorola Type II Smartnet
System Voice:Analog and APCO-25 Common Air Interface
which is the system the frequency is on. I don't see how spending $60 will solve this. It should work without dmr.

My old thread using the whistler.

The talkgroup you've included is not DMR. The system that it shown on, Paducah Public Safety, is a Motorola Type II system, and has both analog as well as digital talkgroups. TGID 22416 is listed as analog. Note that this is a talkgroup, not a frequency.

Are you hearing other activity on that system? If you are, then it's possible that thge transit agency is no longer on the system, or they may have switched to a different talkgroup. To explorer that, I would suggest programming just that system in a new programming file. (Are you using software to origram? If so, which program?) With all listed talkgroups programmed, lock out all of them except for TGID 22416, the one listed as transit. Scan that system with it set to ID Search, not ID Scan. ID Search will receive any active talkgroup on the system that is not locked out and/or is not in a group that is locked out. If there are additional talkgroups in use on the system, this would let the scanner find them. Then listen to whatever as active to try & determine what the unlisted talkgroup is used for.

Also, Fulton County Authority has a license for a non-trunked frequency in your county. That license is WPWC915. The frequency shown in your county is 150.830. Try programming that frequency as a conventional, not trunked, channel & see if they may be using that. (That license does not show DMR or NXDN authorization.)

As you noted in your Whistler Forum thread, Paducah Area Transit Authority Taxi is on a different system:
If you were to scan that system in ID Search, not ID Scan, you could determine whether or not the transit system is using it for buses as well as taxi operation.

For your 325P2, the system type is MOT. The site bandplan is 800/900 Standard. The audio type for the PATS talkgroup is analog. If set to any, you will still receive it but there may be a slight delay while the scanner determines the audio type.

I'm using proscan and its pretty intuitive. I can figure out what you said once I reread it a few times. But if you have a simple solution using the software I will go that route. I have been working on this for a month.

I locked everything out but pats using id search and it says " nothing to scan".

Yes, I did. Now, I know they use a cb radio to talk to dispatch and I've seen on the radio display "01". I asked a bus driver if they knew anything about the system and they knew nothing. They can turn it on and push the mic button is all they know.

Did you, accidentally, also lockout the Site? That must be unlocked or else the scanner indeed would have nothing to scan. Even if all talkgroups are locked out, as long as it is set for ID Search (not ID Scan) the scanner should be monitoring the system.

The #8 post screencap shows ID search in the pulldown tab. I don't see an option to lockout "Paducah Public S" and so I don't think I have. I only went down each sub group and locked them out with exception of pats.

Here is screencap of what is locked out. I opened it up and it gave me the option to lock out "Paducah Public S" but I didn't.

I'm not sure where that selection is "checking" for lockouts. On a system where I do have certain groups and TGIDs locked out, I see the same blank screen wherever I click on that system (the system header, groups, & the site).

If you click on the site, you'd see a screen like this:
81355

That box by Lockout should not be checked.

Can you save your programming file, then attach it to a post?

Wished I seen that earlier. I would've used that instead of going down the list checking each box off. No, pats isn't locked out.

You had the site, as well as each of the frequencies, locked out. Try the modified version I attached & see what happens.

Hint: As long as you lockout the groups (for the other users on the system), you don't need to also lockout each talkgroup ID.

is there a way I can set it so if it picks up a talkgroup it will store it? it is searching now but nothing is coming through. if I left it searching all day
maybe it will find it.

I see the top frequencies are unchecked. Those must be what the talkgropus go through. Didn't know that.

No, no autostore option. But if you leave the scanner connected to your PC with ProScan working, then it would log any new hits, as well as show you how many times they came up.
