thinking about purchasing a handheld scanner. which is the best. bcd396t or the new psr500?, which is the better receiver?

Granny Smith or Macintoish Apples (or other varities) which one is better, ask the question to 10 people and you might well get 10 different answers. I have the 996 and the 500. Personally I prefer the GRE over the Uniden scanners.
