BCD436HP/BCD536HP: bcd436hp assistance

Hi i just bought a bcd436hp,and i tried to turn it on and it doesnt turn on.Im using a usb cable that came with the radio and still doesnt turn on
and i took out the batteires and put them back in,still nothing.Please help.Thank you.

How long are you holding the power key in for? Is the scanner new?

Who'd you buy it from? Private sale? New from a retailer? Have another set of batteries to try?

I use mine without batteries, just USB power. So batteries are not needed to make the scanner power on. As soon as I connect the USB cable the display says No Battery. So the CPU should come alive without the keypad being used, if the On/Off button would be defective in some way.

Is it possible (and I speak from experience) that you managed to jam the USB cable into the GPS antenna port? They're right next to each other and fairly similar looking.
