Good day to all,

I've been having a lot of issues recently with both of my Unidne scanners, I find this issues isn't limited to one single model but the 436HP and PT models, but also the 536HP/PT models (yes I have all 4 model).

These all work perfectly for P25, DMR and NXDN (trunking) but the issue is with NXDN One Freq.

All scanners have had antennas changed from small whip inside of a house, to side mounted dipoles, and even a discone which are both attached to the roof.

The scanners are all programmed to monitor 1 single frequency which has a dispatch tx on RAN5 and units tx on RAN10 (prevents chat between units). The site is approx 10-15km's away from the receivers and not located close to any other repeaters that may cause intereference.

I've tried various things such has manual digital threshold (at level 9) and auto, switching between NFM and FM, squelch high, low middle, holding sites, departments, systems and even channels to no available way of correcting the issue. I will note that the same antennas have been connect to an SDR running DSDPlus with fastlane and it receives clear decodes without issues (Yes I know this is different software but it was a good test to check signal quality).

These units will work for hours on end without fault but randomly just fail and not decode anything.

I've attached a log file from the UBCD536PT and noticed the constant FACCH1 CRC Error, Call Type Error and on screen I get a constant switch between NX4 and IDAS.

Any help would be greatly appreciated.

The following is clear decodes:

We've posted before on NXDN One Frequency issues. Might be related?

This is an IDAS system, not OFT. Should be programmed as a trunked, not OFT, system.

Sorry to say but it is not. It is a NXDN48 single frequency. I know this as I use the radios at work.

It's not a trunking system, has no LCN'S, and doesn't require to be programmed as a trunking system.

The 2 only RAN's used are RAN 5 RAN 10.

I'll post a video shortly of the issue but as mentioned in another thread, there is Definately an issue with nxdn oft as the only work around is to have the frequency programmed as a conventional channel with digital search but that causes issues as there is no radio Id monitoring which is great to have with NXDN to monitor fleet and review recordings.

Just to note as well, Dsdplus fastlane doesn't have issues decoding this single frequency, it has never once changed from cb to tb or from NXDN48 to IDAS so i can safely say the issue is on the firmware side of the scanner and not the system, also, I have had this issue for the past 2 years of owning 2 portables and made the bold jump to get the to base units and still have issues with all 4. And it's funny the fact that 1 will decode nx48 but the other 3 will go dead then another might work but the 2 won't... pretty confusing but hey, just trying to give you as much info as you need.

Final note is, if this was IDAS pr trunked then my nx5300k2 shouldnt be unmuting for me.

This is through DSDPlus Fastlane, I Can definitively say that it is not an IDAS network nor a trunking system being monitored. It is a simple conventional NXDN channel with 2 working RAN codes.
