Hello,

Recently my local PD changed to DMR. I own a BC365CRS which I used prior to the upgrade to listen in, then was informed I would need a new model with the DMR upgrade to pick the channel up again. So, last night I had close call going and was getting a hit on 154.4300 but only static. I received my key this morning and did the upgrade. Now with CC, I get voice on 154.4300 and figured I would go about programming the channel so I can only get this channel along with the FD.
I attempted to program the channel but believe it's not working properly. In the LCN, I can't put anything, because well, I'm in a rural location and there's not much information on RR for my region, or I'm just an idiot and don't know what I'm looking at. To be specific, I live in AZ, Coconino County, Page (if you want to help me out). I wasn't sure if this would be easier done with ProScan or just done within the scanner itself.

If anyone has any information that could help me properly set up my frequencies that would be greatly appreciated.
I think the major problem I'm running into is that there's only a small handful of units on duty at a time and traffic is limited as is, so I overthink that it's not programmed right because I'm not hearing anything and I don't have a reference to know that it's working correctly.

Program a new system. System type is DMR/MotoTRBO. Select One-Freq Trunk. Confirm Yes. Edit Name. Edit Site. New Site. Edit Name. Set Quick Key. Set Frequencies (154.43). Set Color Code (1). Edit Group. New Group. Edit Name. Edit Channel. New Channel. Input TGID (20). Edit Name. Set TDMA Slot (Any). Press SCAN/SEARCH button to exit menus.

I see several different listings for frequency 154.4300 in your county.

154.4300 is listed as analog (not digital, not DMR), with a PL of 127.3, for EMS calls paging.

154.4300 is also three times, as DMR.

154.4300, color code 1, and TGID 20, is used by the PD.

The same frequency, 154.4300, also CC1, is listed as being transmitted, for the fire department, from two different sites, but both using TGID 21.

Program the frequency in a One Frequency DMR Trunked system. The frequency 154.4300 is the 'site', and you have two talkgroups.
Talkgroup 20 would be entered as the PD.
TGID 21 for the fire department.

I see that frequency 154.025 is also used by both the PD & FD. And, the same color code & talkgroups- CC is 1, PD using TGID 20, FD TGID 21.

tvengr has already noted how to enter it via the keypad, but ProScan can also be used, and is much easier to enter all the needed details. FreeSCAN is not an option, due to very poor support for DMR entries.

Yeah, the whole database for my area is confusing to me. I've been trying to pinpoint the best frequency for PD. The 154.43 works, but its very shotty. Our town is on a mesa, PD was just down the hill and I could barely receive unit transmissions, but dispatch was loud & clear. I'm not sure if I'm going to need to plug in all the repeaters or what.

Hi,
I live in Page, too. I have the same problem. I have a Alinco DJ-MD5 DMR ham radio. I have been able to get some of the dispatchers conversation, but none of the cars. What scanner/key did you end up getting?
Thanks!

Page has been really bad since they upgraded to DMR. I got the DMR Trucking license for my radio and plugged in all the repeaters in town. I pick up off of aqua st the most. Fire switches between digital and analog depending on the crew. One of my coworkers said he had to pick up a new antenna for his digital scanner to pick up traffic.
