First I apologize if this thread exists, I couldn't find anything. I'm having an issue where when I turn on my scanner or start my truck (and the scanner reboots) it clears the memory. Any idea what's causing this?

What kind of truck and how do you have it wired to power and ground? Never had my 996P2 in my truck but had 996 and XT version. When my battery started to go bad in my 04 F-150 if I had it on when I started it would restart the scanner but not clear the programming.

A dip in the voltage should not erase the memory on a BCD996P2. Try resetting the scanner and reloading the firmware. The latest version is 1.08.01. Press and hold the 2, 9, and HOLD/RESUME buttons while turning on to reset. Resetting will erase the memory.

I took out the scanner and reinstalled the firmware and plugged it in with the house plug. Can’t get the problem to occur again, we shall see.
