Freescan: BCD996P2, using free scan.

I have lost Connecticut State Police. Downloaded from here have question on what system should be used.
Was P25 single trunk and working. Set up frequency changes per troop and still nothing. Suggestions please.

It's been quite a while since I've used Freescan, but it should be programmed as "P25 Standard" if I remember correctly. Then program the sites close to you and the associated talk groups you want to hear.

For the BCD996P2, using FreeSCAN, system and site types on CLMRN should both be P25 Standard (Digital-XT).

Thanks to all, I did realize that while downloading software says too many talk groups. Still not receiving CSP . will have to go through programming again

kobes, i sent the manual way to program, it is not that hard.
if you leave it on id search, you will hear everything and everybody.
look at the top right of this page.

A common problem encountered by newcomers on this kind of system is to try to load everything. You've got too many sites here to put them in everything. You must isolate your programming and determine which site(s) are closest to you.

Always do a REPLACE not an ADD when you are trying to fix a system! This is another common mistake.

Put your .996 file in a zip file then post it here. Folks can take a look at it and see what might be additionally wrong

The BCD996P2 is limited to 500 talkgroups per system.
