Turned on my BCT15 today at the office.....it was working for about 5 minutes and as i was watching it, the screen flickered and it went dead!

Weird thing is the LCD screen is getting "some" power. When i turn it on, the LCD goes a but dark...if that makes any sense.

Anyone have any ideas.....is it the power adapter...or is the unit fried?

P.S. i tried a factory reset to no avail!

Just a follow-up...the unit is now sometimes powering up...but it continues to go through the boot up process and loops over and over again!

First thing I'd suspect is marginal voltage or current output from the ac adapter. Why not take it out to the car & try it with the cigarette lighter cord? If it works ok that way, you know it's the adapter. If that still does not work, then it may be the scanner, not the adapter.

Just an update...i got the scanner back from warranty and it turns out it was the power cord. Just as a heads up for anyone reading this down the road...don't rule out the cord after testing it with your volt meter unless you are able to test under load!
