What a great scanner!
I have had this scanner for a couple days now and it blows away any other scanner I have in feature set and sensitivity.
I own the 246t and around 30 other scanners both RS and Uniden. For sake of comparison I used the 246t against the bct15.

Today while listening to Milair I heard air to air f16s talking during an exercise at Avon Park bombing range. Why is this a big deal well, a number of people have wondered how well the bct15 performs on the milair freqs...the answer is spectacular. My scanner was in my lap with a telescoping whip on the back of it 50 miles away from the f16s at Avon Park the signal was loud and clear. Now of course the 246t doesnt have milair so couldnt compare it in this area to the bct15.

I thought I would test and see how it sounds in the car in a mobile test.I drove down to an area in town which was notorious for intermod and interference on 800 megs. The 246 failed here no signal on the local 800 mhz trunked system however on the bct15 loud and clear no intermod, no interference nada loud and clear.
I mounted the scanner vetically so I could have access to the keyboard and lcd screen..did not need the light on the lcd did on the 246t in order to see what I was scanning. The 246t was never loud enough to hear the audio clearly while driving down the road with the windows down the bct15 had plenty of volume to spare and no distortion.

I listened on the atc freqs in our local area in Tampa and once again the bct15 blew away everything I have owned to this date.Again in my lap telecopic ant on the back, I was hearing both the tower and atis audio from our local airport 10 miles away.

By the way here is a tip....throw away the crappy whip ant that comes with the bct15 go RS get the 800mhz rubber ant and get a 90 degree elbow bnc connector which will allow you to use it and any other port nt you might have works like a charm.

This was my personal review with this new scanner. If you need a mobile/base analog scanner this IS the one no doubt about it.

Kudos to Uniden and UPMAN if you read this, thanks for listening to your customers I noticed a number of improvements on this scanner that were mentioned by others in variuos forums which I am sure you had input on .THANKS UNIDEN

Nice review, enjoy the new radio! I agree with you on *most* stock antennas. They are usually designed to be a starter antenna in most cases. A few of them are actually from specific antenna manufacturers and have excellent bandwidth to match the radio, usually high end handheld radios. The RS800MHz antenna is a steller performer and works well, and is a good match on most radios.

Don't forget to check out the Wiki for additional information about the BCT15 operation and available software: http://wiki.radioreference.com/index.php/BCT15

Strangely, the stock antenna seems to work best on my 780XLT. Even better than the RS, especially on VHF
