BCT15X Help

I am very new to this and just received my BCT15x (also got a BCT125AT but that's for another post) and I have NO clue what to do. I don't want to get frustrated and give up and I don't need really any special programming done I just want to listen to what is happening in my state. I checked the firmware version on the scanner and it says 1.06.03. I hope I haven't gotten in over my head, any help would be appreciated.

Since we don't know what state you're in or anything else for that matter we can't be of much help. If your state is like a lot of states you won't be able to listen to much with either one of these scanners. A lot of states have gone digital and these scanners are not capable of receiving digital.

Sorry....I am in Indiana. I think I'm going to send these back and just go with a digital model. Any suggestions on a good one that won't break the bank?

It all depends if your area has SIMULCAST problems LISTED BY COST $400 to $700
996P2 good all around P25 scanner that can be upgraded to NXDN and DMR $400
