Hello all I am using the BCT8 to track a couple of type 2 systems in my area. I have loaded the info via scancat and everything loads fine but I don't hear anything. I think that one of the systems is digital but not sure. What am I doing wrong!!? Is there something that I am missing here? The systems are eastman kodak (monroe county) and Genesee county public safety both in NYS. Thanks

The Eastman Kodak System looks to be halfway APCO P25, a protocol and audio type that your scanner will not track. And Im guessing since one part of it is digital, it may not track the rest of it. It does say in the database notes that the security and fire users are completely digital.

The other system should work fine, the last database update for Genesee Public Safety was in 2008, so it is possible that it has been changed.

No, anything on that Eastman system that is analog, the BCT8 will handle it. It just can't handle any of the digital stuff. It doesn't look like there's too much on that system that is analog, so it's pretty much a wash anyway

Actually your first mistake was using Scancrap...er Scancat. ARC8 from BuTel will allow you to import directly from the database, once you have a premium subscription. It's available from Scanner Master - and make sure you get version 2, which has the RR Web import capability. Earlier versions didn't have it.

Best Regards...Mike
