I was adding vhf channels manually when I apparently changed a setting somewhere causing FM broadcast (FMB) to be part of my scan. Now I can barely listen to any of my channels due to all the radio stations being picked up. Can someone tell me how to remove the FMB from my scan list or what setting I need to change to stop it from being scanned.

Thanks!

Sounds like you got a quick key assigned to FM broadcast in the Service Search mode. Dropping the quick key assigned to it should solve your problem.

I don't know what software you are using, but in FreeScan, you would check Scanner/Setup Scanner Options/Service Search. You can use the System Quick Key Manager (Tools/System Quick Key Manager, then click on Auto Select at the bottom). Float your mouse to the right of the radio button and you should see it's assignment in the white window on the right.

Search with scan

You have it set to search with scan ,just turn that off.The 996T and XT can scan AND have the scanner searching a RANGE at the same time, this is defeatable. No biggie-

PRESS : MENU>SEARCH FOR>EDIT SERVICE>FM BROADCAST>SEARCH WITH SCAN >SET LOCKOUT

most of this will be using the silver knob to look for these items.
