BEARCAT BC365CRS -OPEN CARRIER ON 1 CHANNEL

Just programed a Bearcat BC365CRS scanner for someone . All frequencies working fine except this one , 424.3500 . Channel stays open , like open carrier. I moved scanner away from all computers etc. , even took to another house, still the same . Have same freq. in other Bearcat / Uniden scanners with no problems.
Any ideas on this . Thanks

It's known as a Birdie.

It's common and unavoidable.

In some models, there is a feature, IFX, to change its frequency.

Most likely a birdies produced within the radio.

These occur the way frequencies are processed in the scanner.

They can be annoying if on a frequency you wish to monitor.

Funny, I was just thinking of saying that, until I read your response! 😁

This is a reason why I like the SDS units- They offer features to work around things like birdies, mixer images, and other RF interference, that simply aren't available for other radios.
