hi
i have been looking around, ive most seen that the BCT7 is good. Does anyone own it and have any advice on buying on like if it is good, or dont buy for this reason, etc

I've had one for years, still works like new, unfortunatly most radio is on 700mhz digital now around here. The BCT 7 has an alarm light and tone for highway patrol alerts so it is designed for mobile use. Mine is in the house now and I use it for mostly searching, not scanning anymore. When I used it mobile it was an excellent unit, the constant alarms can be a bother at times. It's preprogrammed by state so when you cross the line, just dial up the new state and your all set. I still take it on trips for that reason, but use a 396T now when I am in the county.
