"Beep" at end of Conventional FM Transmissions

I have noticed that many transmissions from units on the local fire department convectional repeater end with a short "beep," as shown in the video clip linked below. I do not notice this on the Sheriff or EMS repeater. I seem to vaguely remember reading an explanation about this behavior many years ago, but I was unable to find anything in the forums that aligned with what I am hearing. Does anyone know what causes this tone?

Thanks!

It only occurs after transmissions from certain units from what I have observed. I do not recall hearing it after any transmissions from dispatch.

It could be generated in the users radio and not all of them are programmed the same.
It could be generated in the repeater controller but then you should hear it on all units, if it's a single site repeater.
There could be multiple sites or remote receiver sites and not all of them make the tone.
Probably other reasons too.

Thank you! I was not sure if it was merely a roger beep or something more interesting.

without more context and some insider info, i've also seen these Roger Beeps for...
a. Repeater is running on back-up power/Solar etc
b. Failure of the amplifier (Low Power)
c. All depends on who programmed the Repeater

Note that Dispatch is likely hard-wired to the Repeater, so they may/maynot (depends again on programming) have a need for the Roger Beep
