For fairly low intensity tasks like programming, streaming or control of scanners and light web browsing almost any Windows computer will work just fine. I have used everything from a lowly Netbook with Windows XP all the way to fast and expensive gaming centers and they all work just fine for these tasks.

My current favorite is the Intel NUC, I have a couple, the smaller little square NUC and the fancier and more expensive Hades Canyon. You buy them as "bare-bones" kits with no storage, memory or OS and build it from there with what you need. The smaller NUC's can be had for about $350, add a RAM chip and SSD for about another $100 and a copy of Windows for $90 and use an existing monitor, KB and mouse and for under $600 you have a very capable computer with plenty of punch.

My more recent acquisition is the Skull Canyon NUC, a much more powerful computer with great graphics and a huge I/O selection. It supports up to 6 monitors, some at 4K and has tons of horse power. Mine has an 8th gen i7, 32GB of RAM and a couple SSD's and runs rings around the kid's much more expensive gaming rig.

Of course my favorite and best Windows computer is my Mac running Parallels and Windows 10 Pro. While not great for gaming (not my thing anyway) it is the best running PC I have had and I have not had any issues with any radio programming outside of DOS stuff.
