BFRS Film Crew?

Can somebody fill me in? Why is a film crew riding with the BFRS Battalion Chiefs? I have seen them on two separate occasions over the past week or so, filming wrecks, fires, and the fire department doing what they do. Is Birmingham the pilot city for a COPS TV show spin off for fire fighters? Is this Birmingham's attempt to do the LAPD recruitment video thing (http://www.joinlapd.com)? What gives?

William, if I had to guess - and thats all this is, is a guess - I would think its probably a recruiting video.

Maybe Dave911 with his insight can help us out with confirmation.

There is a TV show that is the Firefighter version of COPS that is in just a few markets. It's now expanding to other markets and is currently riding with Birmingham Fire & Rescue. I can't wait to see it!

I was told that show's market is expanding and we will be one of the new markets. Unknown channel. I can't remember the name of the show. I'll check into that and try to post it later.

I have an update... I spoke with someone else who is more in the know. The film crew is a freelance crew that is shooting Birmingham until this Friday. When they leave here, they're going to Washington. I was told they're going to try to get the show on Discovery. It's not for a current show.

Just looking back through old posts. Did anybody ever hear anything further on if the footage shot is going to be on a TV show sometime?

If they miss Discovery, they might want to try Court, err make that Tru (as of tomorrow) TV. Hopefully Directv will carry the show when and if it makes the airwaves.
