Black Friday has started early in James City County (the home of the Williamsburg Prime Outlets).

Starting at 2200 hours JCC Fire have prepositioned an ambulance, several bike paramedics, and Fire Marshalls to provide medical support to the Prime Outlets using TG 1267 (Special Events 1).

They have already responded to a woman suffering chest pains.

The JCC Police are have numerous officers for traffic control.

Apparently, the parking lots in the Prime Outlet Mall are already full and they are directing traffic to an off-site location at Warhill High School. I assume they are going to bus the shoppers to the Mall.

All this and it's not even Friday.

I'm glad I'm enjoying the pandimonim from the comfort of my house.

JCC PD are using TG 1066 (Law 1). This TG has been previously used by York County S.O. for special events. This is the first time I've seen it used by JCC PD.

The JCPD is advising on Tg 1066 that there is total gridlock on Richmond Rd between Route 199 and the city limits of Williamsburg (that's about four miles folks!). They are trying to turn traffic around on Richmond Rd and divert back to Warhill and keep vehicles on Route 199 from heading toward the Malls.

JCPD supervisors are soliciting evening shift units getting off duty to see if anyone wants to work extra duty at Prime Outlets. Even though they had a bunch of officers (JCC and York County) working....they need more. Doesn't sound like he's getting any volunteers.

Traffic is now backing up on Route 199 to the "overpass", I can only assume they mean Mooretown RD which is about 1/2 mile from Richmond Rd.

The traffic has blocked all the roads leading into that part of James City County.

It's 0110 hours and I'm cutting off the scanner for the evening. I wish them the best of luck....their gonna need it.

Oops....as I was getting ready to cut off the scanner JCPD got a call of approximately 100 disorderly people in the parking lot of Warhill High School. It seems they are irritated over the time it takes to get on the bus and are "jumping in front of the bus" trying to stop them. It's getting nasty.

Sounds like they have the Warhill parking lot under control...and the traffic is starting to thin out. Therefore, I am shutting down for the evening. No telling what else is going to happen.

When I got up this morning, I reviewed the recording from the time I left until now. Other than several drunk in public arrests at the mall, there were no other significant issues.

Things are quiet at this end of the county too. I've only heard one NNPD call to Patrick Henry. Think I'll go make some breakfast, sit back and listen to the fiascos as they develop.

P.S.

I had one of Jimmy Neutron's "brain blasts" a bit ago. With all the traffic tie ups at the outlet malls (and I am sure others as well), I wonder what time the employees showed up to work or how many of them were late because of the traffic.

That explains it, the traffic caused the employees to be late and they couldn't open so the traffic just got worse because the stores weren't open! AAAGGGHHHHHHHHhhhh!
