Blackhawks Celebration Preperation

After tonight's win, CPD and CFD will be setting up for some street celebrations on Wednesday or Friday night (I know they'll win the Stanley Cup!). Look for "elite units" to be detailed in and around the Chicago Stadium, North Loop area, and all Districts will be on alert. Look for City-Wide 5 and/or 6, EMS Command to be utilized.

At least for once the West and South sides wont be rioting..

I wouldn't count on that. Since their hasn't been a Stanley Cup in Chicago since 1961, no guarantee of any area not going up for grabs. Weather is looking perfect too...high in the 70's, but a little cooler by 2200 when the game ends. This should prove interesting if it lasts till Friday as it's supposed to get hot by then. Friday night, warm and muggy and the Hawks win a Stanley Cup...oh boy!

Was not dissapointed as the revelers went crazy. zone 6 on Archer Ave. had a few arrests, Zone 2 in Wrigleyville area, quite a bit of activity, Zone 4 the same. Friday will be the parade, so keep an ear to City-Wide 5 or 6 for the detail. CFD will have a couple of Gator's down there too.

CPD using City-wide 6 for detail, Zone 4 (Border of 1st & 18th Dist. Wacker & Michigan) is the home zone there.

Only saw one bad mishap when the female CPD officer fell down next to the last bus and was almost trampled by the crowd who jumped the barricades and were running at the last parade bus....She looked OK when other officers arrived...Crowd estimate=2-3mil, Chicago luvs there teams!!....

WBBM-780 reported that CPD claimed NO ARRESTS were made in connection with the homecoming rally...Amazing!

I was there and the Crowd was very well behaved. I guess if CPD wanted to go in and make arrest on Public drinking, they could have. But all in all, I think everyone was remarkably well behaved.
