Is it possible to hear any thing from the blount County ambulances. I live in Logust Fork. I have a Pro- 163. I think I have the scanner set up fairly well. I can hear alot of traffic on BLNT CO DISP. I do not hear a lot from fire trucks however I do hear the FD dispatches. I guess they don't talk alot on the radios.

Blount EMS dispatches on 463.100.I don't know how well you will be able to receive them from your location.I can get them fairly well in North East Jefferson county.

The fire departments have several different repeaters around the county due to the terrain. The receive channel is the same for every tower though, just the input channel is different. Blount EMS uses SouthernLinc for communications as back up to the UHF channel. I've never had a problem hearing them so just make sure, fire is 158.835 and if you use a PL its 186.2 if you have any other questions please let me know.
Thanks for the info. I have come to the conclusion that there is much chatter on the radio in blount county. I do have the police and the fire disbatch channel programmed and I do hear them talking some times. I even hear them when I am working in Irondale. Can I pickup southern link with the pro 163. Is southern link digital or incripted? I love my scanner but I kick my self in the bottom for not getting the Pro-197.
SouthernLinc is iDen like Nextel and not able to be scanned. The system information is on radioreference for information only.

Where at in NE Jefferson County are you located? Im in the Clay/Pinson area. I dont know if I have the correct freq. programmed in but I dont hear anything from what I have programmed. Will check the freq. again when I get a chance.
