Blown Speaker on BCD396XT under normal use...Any one know the best place to order a replacement speaker and is there any threads best explaining the process....any tricky issues with this?

I would get it direct from Uniden, if it were me. In fact, is this still under warranty?

I'm on it! Thanks for the info. I wonder if it's heat related. Left the scanner in a hot car one afternoon and it didn't sound right after that......works great but the sound leaves a lot to be desired.

New Speaker Installed

Got the new speaker in my BCD396XT. Everything went fine.
Here's something however that I ran into with these Uniden ordered speakers. I ordered 2 speakers because they were so inexpensive in case I blew another one. One of the speakers was damaged. Glad I ordered two. Audio is much better now...back to original sound...without the crackle that had developed.

Hot Car... that's what happened to me too!

I just tried to order 2 of them, but they only had one left, and no choice to pre-order another.... lucky I got one!

Just finished installing my new speaker, works good! Hopefully lasts longer then 3 months this time!
