Bluetooth speaker

Hello, I am wanting to put my scanner upstairs in my house because I get better reception upstairs than I do downstairs. Problem is, we are always downstairs. Does anyone have any cheaper suggestions on what I could do for maybe a Bluetooth speaker I could put downstairs? I have and old Grecom PSR 600. I know there is a little gadget I can plug into the headphone jack so I can Bluetooth the audio to a speaker. Could I do this for downstairs? If so, would anyone have any suggestions? Is there a Bluetooth speaker I could just keep plugged in all the time?

What you are describing works.

I suspect whatever setup you choose will require restarting periodically, even if you go with something that has constant power on both send and receive sides, rather than battery, which most work on.

My experience is Bluetooth is spotty to get a good connection from one floor to another. YMMV

I concur. Look for a long range one.

we plugged an old all in one before we threw it away and used broadcastify on bluetooth to a bluetooth speaker we had.
only room to room but it was even outside with us today at the pool.
it is the house 'musak'.
oh, the wife likes it too.

I have that too on my phone but the only problem with broadcastify is that I don’t want all the channels they have on there. I can’t really folllow anything just bits and pieces of everything.

ok, i am also trying to say hook the scanner to an old computer and then use its bluetooth.
most all computer have it. except my 15 year old desktop.
they do make addons.

I have an older Microsoft tablet that I don’t use. Is it possible for me to hook up my scanner to that and use that Bluetooth?

This price scares me. With it being so cheap, and with it being on a different floor, how long would it work for and what is the sound quality?

i do update the computer at least once a month after update tuesday.

another way is computer to computer, use team viewer, to each machine and the audio comes through.

most are 3.5mm. the unidens need a stereo one. the 600 might be mono.

For private listening, you can plug an 1/8” (3.5 mm)

the speaker was a garbage find, one speaker is out, but with only scanner stuff, it is not noticed.

Thank you and I appreciate that. I went to Walmart and bought a 3.5mm audio jack. I had to charge my tablet and wipe the dust off of it. In doing this, I had to install quite a few updates. However, when all completed, I could get no sound to come across my tablet speakers. It does have Bluetooth but I wanted to see if I could get them on the tablet speaker first. Not sure what I’m doing wrong but gave up for now till tomorrow.

I appreciate your help and your suggestions are greatly appreciated!!😊I am willing to go spend some money if this doesn’t work. In your opinion, what would next option be? I’m willing to spend up to $100 probably if need be.
