I'm using a Cardo BTA-2 bluetooth adapter connected to a BC396. For reception I'm using a Samsung WEP-200 headset.

Two problems:

#1 For the 2.5 to 3.5 mm (3/32 to 1/8) adapter from scanner to bluetooth I tried using the RS stereo to stereo adapter but it didn't work - no audio. I switched to the mono to mono adapter and I get audio, but it's very low, I have to put the 396 on volume 15 to be able to hear. Anyone have any suggestions? Is there a stereo 1/8" to mono 3/32"? Or perhaps make my own adapter? I'm guessing the problem is I need to get both stereo feeds from the scanner and just pipe them to the one ring on the BTA adapter.

#2 This is a bit more frustrating. I only get audio on the Samsung for 60 seconds and it times out. Then I have to hit the multifunction key to re-establish connection. Is anyone else out there using a Cardo OR using a Samsung 200? The setup options are pretty limited on both units.

I really like the Samsung, it's incredibly small and I got it for half price during a Nextel sale. Would switching to a different bluetooth adapter work better (like the Jabra?)

Thx

I had some pairing problems with my WEP200 and BlackJack. Have you tried turning the 200 off (hold multi for 4 seconds) and re-pairing the devices?

It took me a few tries to pair the two.

How much did you get the WEP for?

Best Buy had it for $89, which is highway robbery- I had a $40 gift card though.

I am using the Cardo Beta 2 with the Moto 700, also the stereo phone jack and it works great.

I use the Cardo BTA II with Plantronics M2500 & Motorola H350 headset. I use the stereo adaptor and it works with the BCD396T & BR330T. A couple of times I have not shoved the adaptor all the way in the radio or on the BTA (can't remember) and it makes the audio real low. If it is not working, I would try the BTA on a cell phone and the stereo adaptor on a wired ear piece. My thought is the two are paired correctly if you are getting any audio at all.

On your second problem, once you get the audio level fixed, the BTA will reconnect with the headset automatically when it receives sufficient audio. Unless you radio is constantly receiving something it will go into sleep mode to save batteries.

Thanks all for the help! Problem 1 & 2 were related. I just built my own adapter with an old 1/8" headphone stereo jack wired to 3/32" jack (RS 274-245) and I'm in business. The 60 second time out issue was solved with the stronger audio (thanks Traumacop). Perhaps my original RS stereo to stereo was slightly off spec and not making a good connection?

Very cool! Walking around the house now and getting a good feed. And MikeGilbert, I got the WEP200 on sale at a Nextel store for $50, but that promotion ended on the 28th. Samsung's website has them also on sale for $50.

Happy New Year all.
