Must have been the wrong Freq/Tone or Channel as Boston is generally busy
and No, still analog using DPL Tones with a couple of P25 Freqs already in the mix [Det's etc]
Have they moved to the new system yet?for a medium sized city they talk very little on their analog uhf freqs. Unless I was monitoring wrong channel

What Bill said, with the addition that none of the P25 frequencies are for district dispatch. Radio shop, and I think an admin channel or two. I don't usually listen, so I don't know about encryption.

I don't expect encryption to be routinely used on the new system. There are a lot of other agencies that monitor BPD and it would be impractical for them to buy new radios and try to get the encryption keys. Not impossible, but impractical.
