Bradford-West Gwillimbury Fire Department reception

I have a SDS100 which works quite well and I have Bradford-West Gwillimbury Fire Department programmed in my scanner. I live in Barrie and can pick up Richmond Hill Fire Department, but I have never picked up Bradford. I have DMR and NXDN and have gotten all the other surrounding fire departments but never Bradford? It is not encrypted?

I know their Police department is encrypted. Any help out there?

Bradford is not encrypted and the info on the database should be correct.

I’ll have a listen and see if I’m still hearing them.

Bradford is currently running an alarm call and I can confirm the group, slot and colour code are correct.

I can only hear the 11th Line site and can confirm the frequency is correct.

They used to come in quite well here in Aurora but I haven't heard them in a very long time. I wonder if they lowered their power or something.

Their signal comes in strongly to Toronto. I usually hear them responding to vehicle collision rescues. The last time I noticed them was in the middle of July when the tornado passed through Barrie.

I’m hearing them in Clearview just as strong as ever.

Keep in mind there are two sites. If you can’t hear one, might want to try the other.

Never was able to hear Bradford except when they were on the Innisfil TGs for a mutual aid response, but I've received data from York. I wonder, where abouts are you in Barrie? I'm within somewhat close proximity to the Georgian Mall.

I am in the Wellington/St.Vincent area. I have both channels and proper color codes but have never received anything. I get Innisfil all the time and even Shelburne FDP. I don’t get it?? Maybe we can meet and discuss scanning the area and maybe pick up a few tips.

Check the channels as conventional CSQ and see if you hear any signals at all. This will tell you if there is activity but your missing it for some reason.

Might consider sharing your programming file so others can check it for problems.

Mike makes a good point. Sometimes, a fresh pair of eyes don't see what you think you see. I had that issue with a pair of transposed digits on a programming field. I looked at it 30 or more times and saw 24 42 58 the correct number was 42 24 58.
