Hello all I am new to the scanner world so please bear with me with this question. I cannot find anywhere if I can monitor my local police, Brea, in Orange County. I find the frequency but nothing ever comes on. Any help is greatly appreciated. I do have Uniden BVD436HP. I thought with this scanner that I can pick them up. Thank you in advance.

All law enforcement and fire agencies in Orange County are encrypted, which means that they cannot be heard by the public.
You can hear some of the fire departments on broadcastify.com
Sadly maybe in twenty years when they replace the current system MAYBE you might be able to listen to fire on a scanner again

All above is correct. Nothing you can hear on your scanner. But you can hear Brea Fire dispatched on the MetroNet Dispatch streaming channel on Broadcastify, and you can hear their response (traffic between BFD units and Metro dispatch) on their streaming tac channel (2A). Larger incidents (structure fires, TC trapped, or most anything that requires a battalion chief) are broadcast on 2N, which is also on Broadcastify. If 2N is taken by another incident, their back-up “major incident tac” is 2M (also on Broadcastify).
