This morning. Heard what sounded like some enc comms on 154.725 for while. Either some units are up and running or they're testing. Heard they're delayed a little.

thanks scott

it looks like the p.d is going digital. we can forget listening to them in the future.
155.085 is a fireground frequency. its just used in the h.t.
some new frequencies but they look to be for repeaters. for years there was problems
with the radio system. then we went to the voice boxes which were useless.
go over the boston ave hill or way out in the westside the dispatcher cant even hear you.

Any idea on when this is supposed to officially begin full time digital and will it be full time encryption? I'm looking for real information.

More "test test test" on 154.995 with NAC 505. Also some encrypted traffic, based on the transmission length, that was probably "test test test" as well.

Earlier today:
154.995 NAC505 - Bridgeport new frequency
Radio ID:1 was the base - in the clear and "coded"
Other unit testing was Radio ID: 2163 -totally in the clear testing
Interesting, he had the base go "coded" and she talked a little (radio ID:1) (encrypted)
His response was that "this could be a safety issue...I can hear the difference when you were coded and it could be a safety issue"
More testing this time in ANALOG mode, PL 192.8
Also got the CW ID a few times

I've heard the PD has taken delivery of new mobiles & portables and will be using encripted P25. Northestern Comm is working on the project.

The FD should remain the same for dispatch.

Fire coverage testing on "Channel 2" 155.0850 PL 156.7

Multiple companies calling in from different addresses reporting coverage. One building was reported with 85% unreadable another with 100% unreadable.

Also some on "Channel 3" 154.9950 PL 79.7

From a post on the CT Fire/EMS forums:
"The long awaited combined fire and police dispatch center is slated to go on line next week. The FD will be cutting over on Tuesday 4/27 and the PD on Thursday 4/29."

Thanks for the update about their new comm center coming online within the next week. It seems like it has been a long time coming. From what I heard is that it is also going to be a regional EOC as well.

In regards to the radio system how is the progress on that tower by the City hall that it going up?

I knew they were going online on Tuesday. So from what I gather, PD is going to be encrypted and FD in the clear as there's no real reason to encrypt them. I listen to PD but I can deal not being able to hear them. if there's a shoot or a stabing you're gonna hear it over med 9 but I will be at a serious loss if I can't hear the FD.
