The keypad didn't work.. I took it apart and fixed the key pad.. When I reassemblied it I think I put a hairline crack in the ribbon that carries a signal to the LED display.. It used to say "Welcome to trunking" when turned on.. I know it is not the batteries. The LED will light up when the "light" button is pushed (this was one of the buttons that didn't work before).. I was wondering do I have to stick a pin in the side and "reboot" or is that just to clear the memory?

You probably answered your own question.

If you cracked the ribbon the LCD display isn't getting a signal. The LED backlight is a different circuit so it's still working.

That's probably going to be a factory fix.

I live in Virginia Beach, VA. How can I find a radio repair shop instead of sending it to RS?
Thanks..
