Talk about New Milford Fire and Ambulance switching over to digital has started very recently. If it will be a private system or on the CLMRN is yet to be decided.
Are they having issues with coverage on their system or are they just interested in digital in general? Seems like it has great coverage now analog.

Where's a source to back this up? I have friends in New Milford who listen to them but only have an analog scanner so if they plan to go digital at least I can help them get another scanner lined up before it happens

It’s still in the talking phase, nothing official has been decided.

There are issues with the system now, Coverage is not great with portables. A lot of dead spots and terrible the second you walk inside a house.

That's not great. Do you have a source, including yourself?
I've not seen any documentation on this going p25, just people mentioning it on RR.
My friend new new milford does not have a PC as he's a much older person and thinks the internet is bad so I like bringing him stuff to read on it

I work for the ambualnce. Again all is still in the talking stage and figuring out the logistics included in it. There was a communication committee formed within the town and this has been one of the questions that has been coming up.

What about the audio you don’t hear because it’s not making it to the repeater? I have first hand experience with dead zones working for the ambualnce.
And as someone who had worked in dispatch, I can say that this is one of the worst scenarios for us as well if we can't hear you.
Do you know if CLMRN has been discussed as an option? Is there enough in-building and street coverage over there?
